Resumen


Genesis and evolution of Intelligent design.

The biological sciences have had a revolutionary progress in the last 150 years, mainly in evolutionary and molecular biology. These two disciplines, combined, have transformed biology from a static taxonomizing discipline to an active and dynamic science. Molecular biologists design and execute experiments, which a few years ago belong to the realm of atomic physics. In spite of this, it seems that biophilosophy has been left behind, or at least relegated to a secondary position. Old debates, which I considered closed and resolved, loom on the horizon. Perhaps the lack of philosophical rigor promotes, once again, a battlefront between science and religion concerning questions on the origin of life. Specifically, I refer to the modern day theory of Intelligent Design, which emerges as a new and mutated form of Creationism.

Algunos creacionistas argumentan que los dinosaurios, por ser reptiles y nomamíferos, son especies inferiores y odiosas, y por tanto no deben ser considerados dentro de la evidencia fósil. Sobra decir que este argumento, por estar basado en un juicio de valor y no tener sustento empírico alguno, es absolutamente inútil y no merece siquiera ser refutado. La segunda ley de la termodinámica, o entropía, sostiene que un sistematermodinámico cerrado siempre tiende hacia un nivel de desorden mayor. Esta ley tiene desde hace dos siglos amplia justificación empírica, el calor fluye de caliente a frío, “desordenando” el material frío al calentarlo.
