Canguilhem y Foucault: De la normatividad a la normalización

Resumen


Conguilhem and Foucault: from normativity to normalization

This work explores the points of agreement and discordance between the ideas of Georges Canguilhem and those of Michel Foucault concerning life as a biological reality, and the phenomena related: health, sickness, normality, pathologic states, normativity and normalization. In particular the emphasis that Canguilhem puts in the normativity capacity of living beings, that allows them to create its own norms and to adapt to changes in their environment. Against, the foucaultean perspective emphasizes the normalization processes, that start up in the modern societies related to biopower and biopolitics, which inhibit the normative capacity of the individuals.  In the end, Foucault will recognize in life a force that does not hold to controls and normalization, giving to its philosophy a vitalistic gesture.
