La clonación o el espejismo de la simplificación

Leticia Ponce De León García

Resumen

Cloning or the simplification illusion

In order to untangle the conceptual lattice regarding cloning, we propose a several-step course. We begin with the human’s perception processes and the categorization of the surrounding elements that precedes the mental construction of images and the landscape, where numerous perceived differences are not accounted. From this we can be persuaded about the possibility that in life around us identical entities exists, and on their factual biotechnological realization, thus conferring cloning its meaning. We should then beware of the perception’s limits and relate to scientific knowledge on cloning in nature, including its role in the survival of species. It is confirmed the essential variability between organisms, according to recent discoveries in molecular biology; thus, cloning results in an attenuated variability. Finally, we reconsider the expectations cloning generate our the possible responses.

Key words: Perception, natural cloning, survival, somaconal variability, paleobotany, nuclear transference, transdisciplinarity, biotechnology, philosophy of biology.
