La intrusión de Gaia: claves modestas para pensar la catástrofe
Resumen
ABSTRACT. GAIA’S INTRUSION:
SOME MODEST CLUES TO THINK THE CATASTROPH
This text presents a series of keys to identify the ways in which the catastrophic materializes from the emergence of indeterminate events. The analysis is motivated but not focused on the irruption of the global pandemic of Covid-19, which we are still experiencing. These materializations dance and speculate on general aspects of the pandemic, overproduction, and plastic pollution, together with the harmful agency of some algae –which under certain circumstances become killers of its surrounding ecosystem, characterize what Isabelle Stengers names as intrusions of Gaia. Finally, the touring through this text appeals to responsible, careful, and committed ways of telling the stories of the present, which we are part of.
KEY WORDS. Intrusion, Gaia, Covid-19, ralentir, catastrophe, indetermination, ecocide.
